Coconut Wells and challenging kids

In the past few days in Broome we have had no real plans. We have been out to dinner a couple of times (to watch Wallabies game and staircase to moon), went to the beach a couple of times, the girls have happily played with the other kids in the caravan park and we have done some maintenance on the Troopy. We have checked on the resident green tree snake, many times a day, living in the tree opposite our site.We have been to the Broome Markets twice and I bought some pearl earrings- freshwater ones.
It has a pretty windy in Broome and they say that Winter has come this week but we are not complaining as it is a nice relief. The CP pool is a little too cold for the girls, and us if were honest. Nothing like treading water fast to bring back the feeling in your extremities. I thought that it never got cold in Broome but It can be quite cool when windy. Apparently last week it was beautiful and warm, and the pool was lovely. We can't complain as we have still been to the beach several times.
We thought our girls would be pretty good campers as they have camped rough before, and that they would be adaptable to changing camps. Oooooh no no no! It seems they are better bush campers rather than camping where there is a pool, playground, amenities.they have loved playing with all the other kids. They have had their fair share of talking to's and "time outs" but then they don't get a break from us either. Overall, they have been very good travellers, loving sisters and testing beautiful daughters.
Every time we go into a visitor centre/shop they race around the shop handing us useful squeaky crocodiles, soft toys and lovingly, presents for other people, that they must have.
In Fitzroy Crossing and here in Broome they have had a Fair on so we have had to either drive the long way around or point to something else on the other side of the road. They will have their fair share of bumpy rides and big dips on the Gibb River Road-ha.
Today we wanted to check out a community called Coconut Wells which doesn't use electricity. We didn't really see it but found the most amazing beach. It is 20km north of Broome, along bitumen then off onto a sandy track.

The girls were happy scrambling up the pumice like rock, eating their lunch and looking out to the beautiful water.
Michael and Rubes did some fishing and Olive was happy to sit with me as I did some Pilates.

Michael doing his best to camouflage into the water. We did some exploring and then a quick nudey swim- that water was too good for cosies.

We have met some lovely fellow campers in the Park so we asked if they wanted to head down to the beach one night for sunset. On our latest discovery of the Wells we decided to head back there, now on low tide. What a different beach it is on low tide. The reef that we could slightly see at high tide was now looking like this....
It created little rock pools where some were waist deep.

We had a great night with new friends, had a BBQ on the beach watching the sunset- no nudey swims then!
